The traditional skateboard has been reinvented. Welcome to the world known as #esk8
Traditionally foot propelled, today’s electric skateboards allow riders to be powered by lithium batteries. First invented by Louie Finkle in the late 90’s, e-skateboards have taken off in the last 12 months. The portability still remains, but now you can leave the sweat patches behind.
Using Bluetooth technology (wireless remote) and brushless motors, many e-skateboards are capable of incredible speeds (in excess of 40km/h) and often come with regenerative breaking, which recharges the battery.
E-skateboards appeal to traditional skateboarders as well as new riders, who maybe never had the balance, can now experience skateboarding as there is no need to push!
